JOB SUMMARY
Avolites has a brilliant opportunity, suitable for recent graduates or a technically experienced individuals who want to start their career in the Live Events industry by working in our customer facing department. You should have good communication skills and enjoy working with people. Electronic and IT-based technical aptitude are essential, and willingness to help solve problems over the telephone or in written communication. Your verbal and written communication skills will need to be excellent, and you will be comfortable with talking to small groups of people. You will need to be a naturally calm and positive person, even under pressure and importantly, will need to be a team player. The role cuts across a multitude of departments within the company, and is an excellent way for someone wanting to start off their career in the Live Events industry to find out what roles within the manufacturing environment they are most passionate about. This is an important role within the company, as you will be working in and with our Service, Support, Training and Sales departments, gaining experience and understanding our products, both hardware and software, to a significant depth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take calls and bookings of Avolites products for service, repairs, upgrades, support and training
- Assist in communication with customers until their support or service query is resolved
- Learn, assist and deliver in person Titan, Prism and Ai software training
- Assist in carrying out service and repair of Avolites consoles and dimmer racks
- Assist in the investigation and diagnose faults of Avolites products and carry out servicing, repairs, and upgrades
- Write summaries and reports of service or repair work performed to a high standard
- Liaise with other internal departments on common hardware and software queries
- Assist with giving professional technical support to customers and other departments within Avolites when necessary
- Assist in provide customer and distributor hardware support for the Avolites console and Dimmer range of products
- Assist in the inspection and prepare demo consoles or training or loan to customers
- Assist and instruct customers on equipment operational care and maintenance
- Assist in providing customers technical (hardware & software) support for the Avolites console range
- Assist or provide service, software training and support for distributors when necessary
- Assist with loading and unloading of vans of equipment when necessary
- Develop a high level of working knowledge of all Avolites products with a good understanding of all the products features and capabilities
- Assist in keep other support staff and relevant departments updated on current support cases
- Report and investigate counterfeit consoles
- Create and develop ideas to increase user knowledge of products and functions
- Keep up to date with Avolites software developments as they are being created
- Relay feedback from users to the relevant departments in an efficient manor
- Assist in the development and creation of training content

- A strong understanding of electronics and electrical theory, networking (DMX theory and experience),
- The capacity to remain calm when working under pressure, both on the phone and in person
- A commitment to maintaining consistent high-quality outcomes
DESIRABLE EXTRAS
- Good IT skills and a level of comfort working with Windows operating systems
- Using emerging technologies e.g. Raspberry pie, PC repair, IOT
- A qualification in electronics, IT, or a related scientific field is advantageous
- Able to identify components on a printed circuit board and able to read and understand circuit diagrams
- Experience working or assisting in live productions
- Experience working with or using lighting control equipment, media equipment and digital content
- Experience of creating technical documentation (technical bulletins, how to guides etc)
- Full UK driving licence and experience driving medium sized vans
- A further or higher qualification in electronics, IT, or a related scientific field
